In Sept 2004, Firium was appraised by the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie-Mellon University (SEI) as having passed the Level 3 international standards of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM). The SW-CMM™ is a respected industry yardstick for measurement against the maturity of software development processes. This appraisal has proven that Jatis (the parent company) and Firium
has the ability to measure and improve performance in areas of time-to-market,
overall product and service quality, cost of development and lastly, project
planning. According to a report issued by SEI, only 25.6% of companies
participating in the CMM certification process have achieved Level 3 status.
There was also an estimation by industry sources that there are about
300 companies worldwide with CMM Level 3 certification, and 70 with CMM
Level 5. |
