Management Challenge
In view of narrowing margins in the interest income and the strategy to extend its mass affluent customer base, the bank intended to leverage on its leading position in retail banking and nationwide branch distribution network to capture the growing mutual fund industry, using it as a platform to launch Bank Mandiri’s wealth management business serving both the retail and mass affluent customer segments.
Our Solution
Firium was able to meet Bank Mandiri’s requirements by implementing the Avantrade Unit Trust System to serve Bank Mandiri’s Unit Trust Distribution and IPO businesses. The distribution and IPO system was implemented in 4 months.
The system enabled Mandiri to provide an Integrated Wealth Management System that enables IPO processing at its head office and Unit Trust sales automation via its 550 branches nationwide . Through this solution, the Bank is able to rapidly introduce its latest unit trust products to its customers with better service and quicker response time.
With the system platform incorporated in the business strategy, the bank is able to rapidly grow its unit trust asset under management (AUM) from US$52 million in 2002 to US$652 million in 2004. |
